Tutorial - Configuring the Toolbar with Internet Explorer
The Netcraft Toolbar provides a range of configuration options to help make your web browsing safer and more effective. Note: The Firefox toolbar does not have an options menu.

- Block unrequested popup windows
Stop web sites from displaying popup windows without your permission. Note that the Netcraft Toolbar blocks most popups but some web sites may use other methods to display them. - Block Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks
Stop attackers from using cross-site scripting to steal your cookies or passwords. - Always force display of these browser elements:
This section enables you to stop malicious web pages from hiding parts of your browser which would help you identify them:- Toolbar - Stop web pages hiding the browser's toolbar area.
- Status bar - Stop web pages hiding the browser's status bar.
- Resizable - Stop web pages disabling resizing of the browser window.
- Menu bar - Stop web pages hiding the browser's menu bar (this requires the toolbar area to be displayed).
- Toolbar display width
The width of the toolbar informational display area, in pixels. Changes to this option will only become effective after you restart your browser. - Height of a browser bar
The height of a single toolbar or menu bar, in pixels. The toolbar will use this value to adjust the size of the browser window after forcing elements such as the menu bar. - Timeout for contacting toolbar server

A site's risk rating is an estimate of how likely that site is to be a phishing site, and is based on a number of factors including the age of the site and the number of other fraud sites hosted on its network. The Netcraft Toolbar can automatically block websites with a high risk rating.
